Instructor Sessions

For those Pilates professionals in the Cape Town area, we have been presenting 1-2 hour instructional classes aimed at keeping instructors current and fresh. We have covered several relevant topics including:
- standing Pilates techniques,
- common shoulder injuries and what the Pilates pro can do to assist medical pros in this regard,
- testing of new equipment and Pilates innovations (is it hype or help?)
- how to power up a class without getting too complicated, and so on...
The next series of instructor classes will cover some new findings in the literature that concern the potential damaging effects of some classical Pilates mat exercises. Some exercises are deemed "excellent for rehab" or purported to be "widely used in back rehab" BUT the truth is less clear. New evidence shows that some techniques are employed at a cost that many backs cannot afford! Find out which ones and don't make the mistake many Pilates teachers are making.
Please call SueAnn at the Cape Town Education and Training Office 021 465 2870 for details and to reserve a space in the next Friday class (7 may 2010).
